Introduction to photography
Exercise 2a :Aperture

Lecture:

It's our first practical class today. Mr.Vinod taught us about Aperture .For further research , he asked us to refer to these links.

Instruction:
Upon reading, viewing and discussing the material on aperture, we have come to agree that aperture effects exposure (Exercise 2a.1) and depth of field (Exercise 2a.2).
Your problem task today is to prove the theory as fact that aperture does effect exposure (Exercise 2a.1) and depth of field (Exercise 2a.2) by devising a plan and acting on it.
When updating your ePortfolio ensure you describe your plan before showcasing the evidence that proves the theory.
All images must be in black and white, you can make the adjustment in the camera (if the feature is available) or make the adjustment later in photoshop (Image > Adjust > Black & White)

Exercise 2a.1 :Exposure
F4.0, ISO 200, S 1/50

F5.6 , ISO 200, S1/50

F8.0, ISO 200, S1/50

F11, ISO 200, S1/50

F16, ISO 200, S1/50

F22, ISO 200, S1/50

Exercise 2a.2 : Depth of Field (D.O.F)
F4.0, ISO 200, S1/60

F5.6, ISO 200, S1/30

F8.0, ISO 200, S1/15

F11, ISO 200, S1/6

F16, ISO 200, S 0"3

F22, ISO 200, S 0"6

Feedback:
Felicia, your attempt at proving aperture effects exposure and depth of field seems successful in that your images proved the said. However I did not see your reflections. As I said in my earlier class, that the most important part of the eportfolio is the Reflection; unfortunately you have not written one, and marks can't be given for the exercise until you do, so Felicia, one more task for you to complete. Please reflect on your experience, observations and findings.

Reflections:

Experience: Getting know more about photography week by week is fun. After Mr. Vinod briefed us about Aperture , I felt so cool as I never adjust it before. Now I feel more confident when it comes to taking photo.

Observation: It's not that hard as I imagined. Aperture basically controls the amount of light and it affects the 'blurness' it's what I used to call. Besides, finally I knew that controlling the exposure meter to zero can keep the brightness constant.

Findings: Nothing is hard if I'm interested in it, practical also very important while learning.
